5 local news agency that that was the only reason why you were
6 evicting him?
7 A. No that is not true.
8 Q. Are you evicting him in part because he grows
9 marijuana plants?

12 A. Oh, wait a minute. Let me qualify that. He was
13 arrested on November 25th for growing 20 plants. I did not
14 call the police about him growing the plants. I called the
15 police because he was yelling and screaming at me, shaking
16 his fists and stomping his feet. They went in his apartment
17 and found the plants.
18 The police then told me that it was illegal in
19 San Bernardino to grow marijuana plants and that I had the
20 right to give him a three-day quit notice which I did. And
21 he didn't leave. And I came to court. And the judge at
22 that time said that I needed to give him a three-day notice
23 to pay or quit and then I needed to give him a 60-day
24 notice. And it was not -- I did not call because he was
25 growing plants.
