Jenkins Services Set for Tuesday at 2 PM
Funeral services for Levi Jenkins, 86, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earlie Smith, Gadsden, Route 2, this morning, 9 o'clock, will be conducted form The Jones Chapel Methodist Church, Tuesday at 1 o'clock. The Rev. C. D. Knight, the Rev. J. E. Marbutt, the Rev. C. B. Davis and the Rev. Etton Taylor will officiate. Interment will be held at the Jones Chapel Cemetery with Brown-Service directing. (NOTE: He is buried at Young's Chapel Cemetery in Hokes Bluff, AL. Jones Chapel was an error by the newspaper.)
Mr. Jenkins was a life-long resident of Gadsden, Route 2, and was a Charter member of the Youngs Chapel Church, being a deacon there.
His is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mollie Jenkins; five sons, J. T. of Gadsden, Jasper, of Glencoe, Route 1, Hugh of Jacksonville, Route 2, Dan of Gadsden, Route 2, and Freeman of Anniston; six daughters, Mrs. Minnie Stallings, of Gadsden, Mrs. Maude Smith of Gadsden, Mrs. Green Griffin, of Jacksonville, Miss Sallie Smith of Gadsden, Mrs. Miller Green of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Ray Locke of Birmingham. (NOTE: Ray should be Roy.)
